Fun Quick Getaway from Baton Rouge, LA to Fairhope, AL

Looking for a Fun Quick Getaway … Here you go!

Baton Rough, LA to Fairhope, AL

The drive was a little over 3 hours and easy. We left on a Friday morning stopped for brunch at a place called Sedra Bistro which was delicious.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Fairhope, AL so checked in a little after lunch. This was around Mardi Gras week and hotel was decorated with lights beautifully. There are some parades that pass right in front of the hotel so if planning for next year keep this in mind. This hotel is right off of main street and convenient to so many places. It is also dog friendly and has complimentary breakfast in the morning 🙂

We walked to the pier from the hotel which was only minutes away with such beautiful scenery. They do have picnic tables, benches, huge fishing pier, grand water fountain and little beach area if going when the weather is warmer. This area would be great for some photo shoots!

Talking about pictures … We took beautiful pictures of us with the sunset at the Grand Hotel. (Short drive from hotel). They have Southern Roots at this hotel (higher end restaurant) and they have Bojangles piano bar more casual restaurant. They also have a place to reserve fire pits outside which is really beautiful and I bet timing it to see the sunset in this area would be gorgeous.

Gambino’s Italian restaurant was delicious and short drive from the hotel. You can use Yelp to get in line ahead of arriving in person or call for a reservation ahead. (On a different trip with the kids and our dog we ate at Bone and Barrel which had fire pits and live music along with good food and drinks which is walking distance from the hotel. This restaurant was were very dog friendly. Bring Fido app is very helpful when finding places that are dog friendly.) Master Joe’s next to the hotel has good sushi, cute atmosphere and literally next door to the hotel.

There are plenty of parks and beautiful places to see that are free so this trip doesn’t have to break the bank either.

The streets near the hotel on Main Street have the most beautiful flowers so there is so much to see just walking around. Majority of shops in walking distance from the hotel are closed on Sundays so keep that in mind when planning your days. The Foley Outlet for more shopping options is about 30 minutes away.

There is a little chapel on the water (Sacred Heart) you can tour which is also a short drive to get to it. The view of the water from the doors was pretty cool.
